"Unicode character handling as spaces" / "Invalid character in source file" warning in Xcode

When you enter the space character in Xcode, a warning sometimes appears:

Unicode character handling as spaces

or

Invalid character in source file

If I rewrote the character, the warning disappears. What causes this?

This happens to me when I type too fast and accidentally hold Alt while pressing Space . This causes non-breaking space ( 0xA0 ), which is not recognized as a valid Xcode whitespace.
