How to install Rodeo IDE in Anaconda python distribution?

I have a 64-bit version 2.2 of python anaconda with python 3.4.3 installed on a Windows 7 machine. I was looking to install rodeo on top of this, but it looks like "conda install rodeo" is not working, so I did "pip install rodeo" .

"pip install rodeo" gave me the following message "Successfully installed rodeo".

But when I find rodeo in cmd to start a rodeo, it gives an error saying

 "failed to create process."

& I can not start the rodeo.

Please inform.

thanks

Yhat recently released its own version of the desktop version of Rodeo. It will be better than the web version. This can be easily installed by downloading the installation file from your site, mentioned below.

Updated answer (as of 2016-6-8)

Rodeo has experienced significant rewriting since the last major release v1.3 , which is currently the downloadable version on the yhat website.

I recommend checking out the latest version v2.0 downloaded from the Rodeo project page on github .

This is how I created Anaconda and Rodeo

enter image description here

If you donโ€™t know which path to install,

  • Open terminal
  • Activate your virtual environment source activate datasci
  • Run which python

Read more at Rodeo docs . And keep checking github for version updates as they come almost daily at this point.

I think the problem is that you need to make sure that you are using pip, as seen in Anaconda. To get around this, I have an alias set in my .bash_aliases file (not sure if it's equivalent in windows) to invoke the anaconda pip version:

 alias pip-ana='/home/usr/anaconda/bin/pip'

This means that I use the pip-ana command to install things in the Anaconda python environment, and not just pip , since the default python alternative environment is used. To solve your problem, make sure you use the correct pip by calling the executable from anaconda/bin .

you can type 'which pip' to make sure you are using the correct version.

also the command in the instructions to give you access to the command line for Rodeo did not work for me. I wrote a new team that works. I would be happy to share this with you.
