How to configure a subdomain (*) lookup?

I need to serve any of my subdomains

sub1.foo.com sub2.foo.com anysub.foo.com

from foo.com

I successfully added an A record with the value * to WebsitePanel .

Should I do the editing in web.config in my project to enable this feature?

If I visit, for example, anysub.foo.com , I get an error

The connection to anysub.foo.com was interrupted.

which, I suppose, means something is blocking the answer.

How can i fix this? Should I edit web.config somehow or what?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to associate wildcards with IIS in a shared hosting environment. You need to have a dedicated computer with a dedicated IP address that processes all incoming traffic without being tied to a specific domain (i.e., the default IIS website that processes all incoming traffic).

AFAIK, this feature is not supported in IIS even in version 8.5.

On the DNS side, make sure it is set to CNAME * pointing to @.

If your website is hosted on the WebsitePanel , you probably need to use Add Website Index to record. I know which website to use.

(You may also need to delete the previously created entry A.)
