How long does it take to install Xcode 7

I am trying to install Xcode 7 for the fifth time. I always complete the download, but the installation completes. I am currently waiting for more than 3 hours to install, and this is still not done.

This is not the installation that actually takes the most time, but the Xcode check after downloading it. Like me, I was wondering what was happening, but I found that it was best to let him go his own way. It would be better if there was some indicator of progress during the process.

I struggled with the same problem for several days, and I found out that none of the above answers are complete.

  • Go to developer.apple.com
  • To come in
  • Go to downloads (don't click xcode yet)
  • Go to view all downloads
  • Now find your xcode option
  • Download .dmg file

If you don’t follow these steps, you can end up, like me, redirecting again and again to the appstore page (and the download never finished)

It seems to be a memory problem, for 4 GB of RAM it will take about 3 hours, and for 16 GB of RAM it will take about 30 minutes.

I left my Mac overnight to update it from the App Store, and the next morning I still had a spinning disk! I followed the advice given above and it worked:

1. Go to developer.apple.com. 2.Login 3. Go to the downloads (do not click on xcode yet) 4. Browse all downloads 5. Now go to find the required version of xcode 6. Download the .dmg file
