Eclipse Mars is slow

I am running mac OS X El Capitan. Eclipse is very slow. Especially scrolling. I am using trackpad macbook.

Macbook retina 13 "2015 8 GB RAM, intel i5 (dual core at 2.7 GHz)

It turned me on! There seems to be some error in Eclipse that causes lag when redrawing editors when OS X uses "automatic scrollbars" (see system settings).

I found that when this parameter is changed, scrollbars are always displayed, performance scrolling in Eclipse is improved.

However, I like automatic scrollbars, so I came up with this hack: I started the terminal to write defaults write -app Eclipse AppleShowScrollBars Always , and now my scrollbars are always displayed for Eclipse, but not for all other applications.

I hope this helps others too, until this problem gets the correct fix :-)

This will give you the necessary impulse to scroll, it will not be even oil, although close to it

add the following lines to eclipse.ini

 -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m
