Kill process created during task execution

I run a task and it works fine, but its task remains in the current shell. Do I need to kill this task from the editor when done?

Try Ctrl+Shift+P , start typing term , and in the command palette “completion of the current task” will be highlighted, press Enter and you will end

Not sure what you tried.

  • Press Ctrl+P
  • Type >task terminate .

In the Runner Explorer window of the task, you will see a tab that has "(works)" in the title. Press X to close the tab, and visual studio will ask you if you want to complete the task. If you decide to finish it, the tab will disappear.
