Annoyingly wide left gutter in IntelliJ 15

I see something in IntelliJ 15 that I have never seen before, and I donโ€™t know how to stop it.

The left chute, where breakpoints, line numbers, version control annotations, etc. are displayed, is several inches wide in my updated IntelliJ 15. The bottom scroll bar also stops at the border. I can not find anything in the general settings to stop it.

Is this a new โ€œfeatureโ€ in IntelliJ 15? Can someone tell me how to tell the IDE to return to a rational width and stop wasting all its space on the screen?

The following error was indicated for this exact situation: IDEA-148002 :

The left border is too wide, there is no option to make it thinner.

This affects IntelliJ IDEA version 15 (143.381). There is currently no version of the fix and comments, so it looks like you have to wait until the error is taken into account ...

This change is likely due to the addition of new buttons inside the gutter, as indicated in the release notes :

Launch applications through the Gutter icon

Now you can configure the Run / Debug configuration for any class (which has the main method) and run it with one click
