Microphone Trigger Event

Question

I am trying to make an application that will respond when a sharp and loud sound is heard in my tablet microphone.

I want to know if this can trigger such an event, and whether it is possible to set some threshold for the sound level of the input.

But it’s just a matter of listening to the microphone and then triggering your event when the sound level is high enough.
