Firebase Analytics Demographics

The Firebase Analytics dashboard shows a map for demographics, including age and gender.

According to https://support.google.com/firebase/answer/6317486?hl=en Firebase should automatically collect age and gender. Can someone explain how he collects this information, and if something else needs to be done to provide it?

In my dashboard I don’t see age or gender data. I also did not find a public API in the firebase-analytics SDK that would allow me to set the age or gender of the user.

If this is related to the advertiser ID, does this mean that we also need to integrate with AdMob to get this data? And if we do not use AdMob, then age and gender cannot be collected? And should AdMob also be associated with the Firebase project before it can start populating this data?

In Android, this data is obtained from an advertising identifier that is automatically collected on devices with Google Play services installed. On iOS, this data is obtained from an advertising identifier (IDFA) when it is available (i.e. when your application is connected to an ad support platform). AdMob is not a prerequisite for Age, Gender or Interest on any platform.

Clarification note from comments: Firebase Analytics demographic reports are installed for privacy reasons . When you have enough data - at least 10 users per age group / gender group - the data for this bracket will be displayed.

Joe, if you are creating an iOS application and you do not have access to IDFA, you will not see demographic data for your users. You need to set a link to the ad support structure. Please see the Apple developer documentation when everything is in order to use the ad support platform in your application.
