How to remove angular html?

I am using tidy-html5 from brew, and I cannot remove my angular templates because they use custom elements such as:

<due-diligence-point index="1" title="Lead Screening">

This throws this error on tidy-html5:

 line 26 column 9 - Error: <due-diligence-point> is not recognized!

Is there an option that I am missing or will it just not work with trim?

The only thing I have is to manually populate "new-empty-tags"?

A bit late for the party here, but have you tried the prefix of your element with the 'data-' tag? The following performs an HTML5 validator validation.

 <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head><title>asdf</title></head> <data-custom-tag></data-custom-tag> </html>

If you remove the data prefix, it throws an error as an unrecognized element.
