Unmanaged Email Notifications

I am using phpmailer to send mail in Yii1. The system I developed sends thousands of emails daily. It usually works fine, as the system has never sent emails ever. Once this mail was delivered successfully (if the system does not send email for the first time, it will try again). For a while I get different types of email messages. Not sure how to resolve these errors:

  • Mailer Error:

The following address could not be completed: test@test.com: MAIL is not received from the server, xxxx SMTP; The client was not authenticated to send anonymous mail during MAIL FROM [MWHPR11CA0017.namprd11.prod.outlook.com] SMTP server error: 5.7.57 SMTP; The client was not authenticated to send anonymous mail during MAIL FROM [MWHPR11CA0017.namprd11.prod.outlook.com]

  1. The following from the address failed:

test@test.com: MAIL not accepted from server

  1. SMTP Error:

Data not accepted. SMTP Server Error: 2.1.5 Recipient OK

  1. The following from the address failed:

test@test.com: MAIL not accepted from server, 354, Start mail input; end with <CRLF>. <CRLF> SMTP server error: starting mail input; end with <CRLF>. <CRLF> SMTP server error: starting mail input; with <CRLF>. <CRLF>

  1. SMTP Error:

Failed to complete the following recipients: xxx@xxx.com

So these are the different types of errors that I sometimes get. For # 5, it seems that the recipient was incorrect, so everything is in order. What about the rest? How to solve them?

Depending on the MTA agent (mail transfer agent) installed on the server, the ports used and SMPT settings, you may need to create an account "from" the user on the server.

If you use SSL / TLS, verify that the digital certificate exists and has not expired. Also make sure that your server OS and MTA are updated with the latest security standards, which, if they are not compatible with the latest industry standards, may cause problems with the confirmation / delivery mechanism.

you can always debug the mail command on your server. But since @argon already answered, the problem is probably related to the SMTP server.

I warmly suggest using an external email marketing service if you send

thousand letters daily.

Your server reputation will only worsen, and it will immediately go to spam or reject SMTP (as in your case).
