I'm on Ubuntu 16.04 with Python 2.7 and virtualenv and virtualenvwrapper.
Following this guide I was able to get the following script working with my Python2.7 system, which has cv2 globally.
I used this script to install it:

Although this is not - even the Python system for some reason cannot read videos ...

Unfortunately, while this works, and I can import cv2 into the shell, it cannot read the video using the above script, possibly due to improper compilation or ffmpeg link? The confusing part is the OpenCV system-wide installation that works great even without ffmpeg!
What am I doing wrong? How can I get OpenCV to work with virtualenv?
