"ASAP" and "UBUNTU" Google font unexpectedly rejected

We used the ASAP font in our web application over the past years without any problems. Suddenly, we began to notice deformations using the google "ASAP" font. They occurred only when the font was used for rendering <Font size 16px. The same problems arose with the font "Ubuntu".

Does anyone know what causes these problems?

We noticed the following problems: IE11, the latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, in Win10, MacOS.

I have exactly the same problem with these fonts. A few days ago it looked good. I tried almost everything to fix it. Unfortunately, the only way that works at this point is to change the font to something like that.

I can use google-webfonts-helper to automate my installation of fonts locally. And, of course, with this setting, my local copy of Ubuntu Regular is now detected.

This is fixed by manually downloading fonts and using them in our project.
