Configure SSL in Active Directory Help

I need to configure SSL through Active Directory. I searched a lot, but could not find a worthy record on how to do this. Please, if you know some good resources about this, let me know. Thanks!

It sounds simple - but I had a lot of problems getting reliable SSL connections working in our environment. The article was about ADAM, but is applicable to AD. In our environment, I could not install domain-related services, such as cert-server, and not act as domain-admin.

I wrote about how I got this job some time ago

Dan and Erlend publications are invaluable.

Took some backflips to do this.

Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is used for reading and writing to Active Directory. By default, LDAP traffic is transmitted without protection. You can make LDAP traffic private and secure using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) / Transport Layer Security (TLS) technology. You can enable LDAP over SSL (LDAPS) by installing a properly formatted certificate either from a Microsoft Certificate Authority (CA) or from a non-Microsoft certification authority, as recommended in this article.

Can you be more specific. What is the client trying to do? Active Directory support ldap over ssl by default. There is nothing that would have to be done to activate it. This is done in port 636 / tcp. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727063.aspx
