How to get into SubSonic?

A month ago, I was looking for some tools that will generate C # classes for my SQL database / tables. Therefore, I do not need to write DAL classes manually and save a lot of time.

I came across "ORM" and subsonic. I watched the webcasts on the homepage http://subsonicproject.com/ and was impressive .

But I still do not have enough additional documentation / knowledge to feel comfortable with subsonic to use it in our projects. Today I read about the possibility of "migration" somewhere - by accident.

How to get into subsonic? How to get more comfort with it? How to find out about all the features and possibilities? Are there any good blogs / tutorials / anything for subsonic?

SubSonic annoys the short documentation (this is one of the reasons I left it). Scott Kuhl wrote the document “Getting Started with SubSonic” (just Google's name and SubSonic), but parts of it seemed to be out of date.

Here is Scott 's blog - a place to start at least.

Here is the document home page . I was curious if the document was really outdated, and I think it is: the last web page is being updated in 2006.

Unfortunately, I do not know any other documentation, and I searched for it.

Update: See the link to the documentation provided by Rob Konye in his answer.

Unfortunately, the best SubSonic “documentation” is in the form of screencasts, but they are very easy to track.

Quite a lot of information about SubSonic on Rob Conery's blog (original author) http://blog.wekeroad.com/tags/subsonic/ .

I personally found that the best thing (as Matt said) is to just use it, configure it in external tools in VS, get the connection string and several other configuration settings, sorted, and you will be fine. You can get the basics down in the afternoon.

The forum is pretty active http://forums.subsonicproject.com/forums/ and a good place if you are stuck.

I admit it - our documents suck :(. I tried to put the site together: http://subsonicproject.com

Hope this helps.

Just start using it.

It is very simple and fairly straightforward. There are several screencasts on how to generate your classes using the sub-commander as soon as you have it easy. and see what you can do with them.

I put together a template project that references SubSonic generated from the Northwind database. A very simple project, but it should be enough to begin work on your first project. Look at here:
