Ad Hoc Deployment Issue: putpkt: write failed: Broken pipe

I have a beta version of my application developed and I want to put it on a few iPhone friends for testing. I checked the steps for deploying Ad Hoc on the developer portal and I also followed these instructions: http://www.talentgrouplabs.com/blog/archive/2008/11/10/iphone-sdk-mobile-provisioning-0xe800003a-0xe8000001.aspx . When I try to compile the application with the selected custom settings, I get "putpkt: write failed: Broken pipe". error registered on the console. It seems that the application is installed, and it starts to work, because I see the first screen for a second. However, he falls and leaves. I'm at a loss. Any thoughts? Here is the output to the console:

This is essentially an internal error in Xcode's ability to talk to your phone. This does not mean that you did something wrong, this is a mistake in the development system. It will disappear after logging out and restarting Xcode, and possibly after rebooting your Mac. I did not see an error at that time - it is possible that you may need another voodoo, for example, removing the application from the phone.

I found this online and it worked for me. Just restarting xcode was not enough.

  • quit Xcode (and for this it is launched by GDB)
  • disconnect device
  • remove the application from the device (save icon until x appears)
  • turn off the device
  • turn on the device
  • plug-in device (if itunes wants to sync, let it finish)
  • launch xcode

Just put the device aside and turn it on again, now run the application, it will work correctly.

In case someone else encounters this, an error occurs with Xcode 4.2 (beta) and iOS 5 (beta), which does not allow me to run any application with a special profile.

When I switched it back to the developer training profile, everything worked correctly.
