New for SSRS configuration

I am trying to install and configure SSRS on SQL 2005 . When I click Reporting Services Configuration , I get a message stating that

No report servers were found on the specified computer - Details Invalid namespace.

How can i solve this?

You do not "configure SSRS on SQL Server 2005" as such.

This is the component that you select during installation (for example, Analysis Services, Integration Services, etc.). For SSRS, you need IIS as a preliminary request, and it will not be installed if IIS is missing.

The error itself is 100% correct if SSRS is not installed ...

Is it actually installed?

Edit:

Just got it on one of my channels: KB 960374 , which describes the exact error above

Pretty simple. Place the drive using SQL and run the installation. Add functions to the existing instance and select Reporting Services. After installation, he would create 2 databases on your SQL Server named ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB

Open the services configuration and you will be prompted to connect to the Reporting Services instance.

If you see this screen, then you are ready to go.

- Read this only if you may have questions to ask

  • Set up a service account for the network service (save the .snk key and create IIS entries, etc. If you do not have IIS, upgrade your OS to a compatible version. You can install it through Add or Remove Windows functions)

  • Make sure your new database is selected in the "Database" section. If not, follow the screen to add it.

  • Open the URL of Report Manager and click the link. (You may need to be an administrator)

  • If you want to deploy reports, just update your solution properties with TargetURL pointing to the web service URL available after setting up the service account)

Ask for something else if you need guidance. I have done this to about 5 servers in the last month, so I know what could go wrong.

Greetings
