Are there any good programming / IDEs for Windows Mobile devices?

Thus, I do not mean a PC-based development environment (such as Visual Studio) for developing and deploying Windows Mobile applications. Rather, I mean the IDE, which runs on Windows Mobile devices and allows you to write and test code there.

Over the past year or so, I have regularly looked for new developer tools to use on Windows Mobile devices and have met many. I have now installed on my device PythonCE , eTcl , dsForth , PocketLogo (Documents that come with it in German), Rebol and Pocket schema .

Development tools that I heard about, but have not tried, Pocket GCC , PocketC , Lua , J , Pocket Programming Language and Pocket C #

A good site to search for other translators is www.rainer-keuchel.de , unfortunately, although it seems that the author has been inactive for some time.

Here is a link to the thread on mobilitysite.com with useful results.

If I find anything new, I will come back and update.

I do not know such a thing, and I doubt that it would be a good idea; therefore, I do not think such a thing exists.

It would be a cool project for you, but I can’t imagine that it will be so difficult. You just need a compiler that runs on the WM platform.

Wait; I found this:

You can try Basic4PPC (www.basic4ppc.com).

This is a great programming environment (based on the NET framework) with a very active and large user community. There is also a version of the IDE that can be used on the device.
