Resource maintenance (resx) in large projects

In a large project where you have a lot of resources (resx), what will be the right approaches and / or translation tools to save time, at the same time, keep everything in order and leave nothing.

More precisely, how to find (as far as translations are concerned) that which was changed (adds and removes easily) the entire .NET application from the previous version to another? Will resx technology help you? How?

I wrote about this in this answer:

Are resx files suitable for internationalization?

Summary:

You should use the localization tool. He notices if the source text changes and new texts are added, so you always know what you need to translate.

Note. The localization tool only manages translations, not the source language.

I personally find that managing multiple ResX files is very frustrating. In one of the projects, we developed a tool that looked something like this:

Allowed to edit resources for all cultures in one grid.

This particular application is available here (this is in Russian, sorry).

The SVN repository is here, look for LocalizationUtil .
