What is the cheapest way to deploy an ASP.Net MVC application?

What is the cheapest way to deploy or host an ASP.Net MVC application? Any shared hosting? This is for a little toy that I will pay from my pocket. Nothing knitting, the cheaper the better.

Any hosting that supports ASP.NET 3.5 should be able to host your ASP.NET MVC applications. You just need to deploy these DLLs in the bin :

  • System.Web.Mvc.dll

If it is not on .NET 3.5 SP1 :

  • System.Web.Abstractions.dll
  • System.Web.Routing.dll

Of course, in order to be able to use the URL without continuing, your host must support IIS7 integrated mode or allow you to add a wildcard map (or you can email them and ask them to add one for you). Otherwise, nothing prevents you from using the .aspx URL if they do not agree. Just change the routing table entries to something like:

 routes.MapRoute("Default", "{controller}.aspx/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = "" });

Hosting and deployment are two different things, but if you are talking about web hosting hosting , support all new ASP.Net platforms, including MVC, and have plans starting at $ 5.00 per month. I am sure that it is not so much to pay out of your pocket.

I run all my dev./pre-production ASP.NET MVC sites on a shared server hosting Godaddy Windows. They also have cheap shared hosting that starts at $ 5 per month. I have not tried my shared hosting, but I trust the company, because they have good round-the-clock phone support (I just want them to get rid of all this annoying / distracting graphics on their website).

I previously used ASP.NET MVC applications on DiscountASP.net - relatively cheap and fairly easy to do. They have Windows 2008 servers, so routing will work out of the box.

I have not deployed the MVC application yet, but for me it was the same. I was looking for a cheap hosting site and was still good.

I found ReliableSite.Net

It is cheap and good. They even drop the free MS SQL 2005 database (1 GB - Extra DB costs $ 1) that other places charge $ 10 per month and give you less than 500 MB of space.

I find that Reliable doesn’t hurt and dull you no matter what, and gives reasonable prices and great coupons.

Like this 15% coupon for life: "aspforum"

I'm sure they support Asp.net MVC, but they just email them quickly to make sure I haven't deployed my own MVC project on my server yet and won't be around a month or two.

Also, as people say, they come with Windows 2008, as it will help in routing, and it is not much more.

* I forgot to mention that you add unlimited domains to the site. Which is especially good for pet hosting, since you do not need to buy a hosting package for each site. One of them will cover your needs for all of your sites.

Relatively easy to manage with Godaddy on a common ("premium") server. Makes life especially easy if you're on IIS7 with integrated pipeline mode. Also, be sure to configure the virtual director (s) for the root application while you are there.
