How to disable sound effects when starting Ubuntu?

Ubuntu plays several sound files at startup. These sound effects become annoying when you meet, when such noise distracts everyone else. What is the easiest way to disable the two sound files that play when Ubuntu boots up and the user logs in? Is there a way to automatically turn off the system volume at startup?

You must change the configuration in two places to mute the login sound and mute the system at startup.

Go to the "Settings → Sound" section, select the "Sounds" tab and make sure that the sound effect of the log is turned off.

To mute the system at startup, add the following command to the startup program.

amixer set "Master" is disabled

You can add to the list of boot programs by selecting the following menu item:

System → Settings → Launch Application

In Ubuntu 10.04, you can go to System> Settings> Launch Applications

In the list of programs, find "GNOME Login Sound" and uncheck the box.

Then the sound of the drum is muted by going to the menu "System"> "Administration"> "Login" and uncheck the box "Play input sound"

Change the configuration of gnome xml config: -

sudo vi / usr / share / glib-2.0 / schemas / com.canonical.unity-greeter.gschema.xml

Find the "play-ready-sound" setting and change the setting from true to "false". Save xml file

Restore the configuration to accept the new setting: - sudo glib-compile-schemas / usr / share / glib-2.0 / schemas /

Restart your computer and the sound will not disappear.
