Animate strings in an NSTableView

Is there an easy way to animate strings in an NSTableView?

I would like to be able to do something like flash a line or disappear from a line.

Essentially - provide a bit of visual feedback when rows are added or deleted.

Edited to add:

I would quickly browse Google before posting this; but I wanted to know if there was a way to do this that I missed otherwise than to draw and animate parts of the table.

There are several ways to align a line. You can just grab a cell and play with it, for example, change the background color or fonts. You can also simply select a cell and undo it several times if you do not need to remove an existing selection from another cell. Or you can overlay another view on top of the cell view and use blend modes ...

To animate the deletion, you can do the same as above, darken the cell, or even move the view up and down, convert it so that it shrinks and moves it to the trash, and squeezes it completely as it enters the trash. Then, after the animation finishes, you delete the line.
