Look for an easy ASP.net shopping cart compatible with PayPal

I am currently developing a simple e-commerce site. I am looking for an easy not hosted ASP.net basket solution that should

  • Be able to talk with PayPal
  • Integration with the current site
  • It is advisable to process an instant PayPal payment notification

The current site uses PayPal to buy it now, or add PayPal buttons to the cart. The problem with the PayPal basket is that it allows customers to update the number of products in the basket before checking, which is unacceptable because each item on this site is unique (for example, quantity 1).

I wrote a PayPal instant notification handler to remove an item from the site when it was sold, but it’s pretty inflexible and I don’t have the time or money to write a good one, so something that handles is great :)

Has anyone used any ASP hosting carts that were not involved and had some recommendations?

Always:

Basket basket

although it may or may not be “light” as you would like.

As an alternative, The Beerhouse has an “e-commerce” module containing a PayPal-integrated shopping cart, although The Beerhouse itself is a complete application and you will need to reorganize the shopping cart code for your own needs. However, it is much more "lightweight." (Note that the latest release of The Beerhouse is for ASP.NET MVC, while older versions are for WebForms).

You can always highlight parts of the .NET Basket for use on your site. You can use InvertedSoftware.ShoppingCart.Intergration for PayPal and InvertedSoftware.ShoppingCart.BusinessLayer for the cart. I can point you in the right direction if you like, as I wrote it.

Check out nopCommerce:

http://www.microsoft.com/web/gallery/nopCommerce.aspx

Maybe not exactly what you need, but it's pretty good, open source, and you can at least take a look at how they did it.

Hope this helps.

If you agree to create a shopping cart using a control (for a web form) or a component (for ASP.NET MVC), you can try using the PayPal control template for the ASP.NET website.

Here is the link: http://www.spicelogic.com/Products/ASP-NET-PayPal-Control-for-Website-Payments-Standard-4

The download also contains sample projects for integrating PayPal payment gateways into asp net MVC and web form.

We have not released yet, but if you have deadlines for patients, consider DotNetMerchant ( http://dotnetmerchant.org ), this is a library that you can add your solution to call multiple payment processors, and we will support PayPal (Website Payments Pro, PayFlow Pro and IPN).
