Removing Firefox Addon Privileges When Disabling a User

I am working on a firefox addon, and one thing I'm not sure about is deleting the user settings associated with my addon when the user uninstalls it. Settings are set, and if the user deletes and restores the settings, there is still. Some settings also apply to the installation for the first time, so this happens if the user has installed it earlier.

Is there something that I can configure that will be called when the user removes the user, or the process of deleting the settings when they are deleted?

Thanks!

You want to take a look at this page , which shows how to register an observer to get the right events. Please note that it is not always 100% reliable, but there should be a way to do this in Firefox 3.7 (Gecko 1.9.3) .

There is no way to do this. Add-ons are simply deleted by the browser and do not say that they will be deleted. You can provide the “Restore Factory Settings” button somewhere in your addition in the GUI.
