ABBYY Mobile OCR Engine for Iphone

I am looking to use / buy an OCR solution for my next iPhone app.

Finding answers on this site did not help me much.

Has anyone ever used ABBYY Mobile OCR Engine for iPhone?

What interests me is how good is it (recognition) and how much does it cost?

Thanks.

I could not find anyone who really used the mobile SDK, but, nonetheless, evaluating it, I think I had an idea.

This is about 15K + 20% of revenue (after Apple takes 30%, so you stay at 50%).

For everyone who falls into this topic, they are looking for a general solution for iPhone OCR (I understand that this topic was originally ABBYY specific), there is good proof of the Tesseract concept here: http://github.com/rcarlsen/Pocket-OCR

You can try using Tesseract (open source). This site describes compilation for the iPhone.

Have you watched OCRopus?

I cannot comment on the mobile version of this, but I previously wrote an application using ABBYY, and the recognition performance was not bad. We looked at the processing of contracts. After eliminating them twice, we have about 5 error symbols left for 10 pages (without turning the documents).

I had the same idea, and I contacted them to ask for prices.

$ 1000 per year for the base engine, another $ 1000 if you want to use your business card module + up to 50% of each sale !!!

very cheap, right? do not think about using the engine if you are not sure that you will sell at least 10,000 applications a year ...
