Android trace file created with zero byte

I am trying to follow the instructions on this page to create a trace file. I see the file in Explorer in DDMS and I can pull it to my computer, but it is zero.

Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong, please?

It seems that the problem was that the stopMethodTracing () call that I used in the onDestroy () method (as suggested in the Dev Guide ) could not stop the trace, even if I tried three different ways to stop the action ... rotating the screen, pressing master key and using Taskiller to destroy the application.

By moving stopMethodTracing () to another place, now I have a trace with the data in it!

(It was vital that I noticed that LogCat reported TRACE STARTED, but never reported TRACE STOPPED.)
