How to change directory icon / logo from bash

I play with get_playayer (fantastic), it works every few hours to capture any new episodes of anything ....

After he has finished capturing something new, I would like to change the ~/Videos logo to add a plus or a star (preferably the nautilus logo)

Will I go about it through the nautilus?
Do I need to change something in gnome-config?
I am sure it cannot be the FS level?

Cheers for any links and tips.

There is a package called libnautilus that provides tools for working with nautilus, including emblems. This is what Dropbox uses, for example, to add emblems showing synchronization status. You can try looking at the source of this.
