Ggplot2 Error in initFields

The ggplotfrom function of the ggplot2 package gives the following error:

Error in initFields(scales = scales) : cannot find function "initRefFields"

I went through other lists and found that upgrading ggplot2 or R to v.14.2 would make it work, however I did both and still do not work. Any hint? there is session information: THANKS!

Not particularly satisfactory, but I solved this by updating R to 2.15.

EDIT: According to @Brian Diggs, this is a known issue in 2.14, fixed in 2.14.1.

Both @Agnus and @Amy seem to have a problem installing / updating them. Note that in both cases the grid and tools version is listed as 2.14.0 . These two packages come with an R base and must have the same version as R ( 2.14.2 or 2.15.0 ). This indicates that the standard packages are not installed correctly, or something forces the R-installation to look for the wrong place for the main libraries.

I'm not sure what might cause this, or how to fix it, if you do not install the standard R (Windows, in both cases) distribution (again).

When copying libraries when upgrading from 2.14 to 2.14.2 or 2.15.x and following the history of service packs, as described in frequently asked questions, the "tools" and the "grid" are not updated in the new version, so the old version 2.14 remains. This is causing problems. A clean install or reinstall of 2.15.x fixes the problem.
