VS logger tags categories in jboss-log4j.xml

Question

What should we use in jboss-log4j.xml to enable / disable traces for our product - category tag or tag?

By default, JBoss uses the "category" in jboss-log4j.xml.
But as far as I know, the "category" is outdated, and the "registrar" should be used instead.
Why is JBoss using an obsolete category tag in a new product?

Habit, I suspect. I still have to use category . It behaves exactly like a logger , in reality there is no difference.
