How to create a .MAP file from a .PDB file

I would like to create a simple .MAP file listing the addresses and symbol names from a PDB file. My natural tendency was to look for a tool called "pdb2map", but most of the results I get for them seem to refer to the sample program from the CD included with the debugging applications for Microsoft.NET and Microsoft Windows, unfortunately posted online.

Does anyone know a good tool for this? Thanks.

If you have application.exe and application.pdb, put them in the same directory and run:

dumpbin /map application.exe > application.map

dumpbin comes with Visual Studio and possibly other tools.

pdb2map was also discussed in a BugSlayer article in the MSDN journal. Unfortunately, the code archive for the online version of the article has been deleted.

John Robbins, the author has a blog and may want to publish the code if you request it.

By the way, the book is worth it.
