SharePoint 2010 development issues

I plan to use my laptop to develop SharePoint 2010, and I have only 4 GB of RAM, which is not even updated. Just because of the RAM limitation, my VS 2010 continues to scan if I try to run it along with SharePoint 2010 on the same computer.

Therefore, I reformatted my car and looked for alternative solutions until I got a new laptop. Currently, I installed VS 2010 only on my laptop and wanted to create an empty SharePoint project. After completing my project, I want to deploy it to another computer (which is also a 4 GB RAM machine, but contains only SharePoint 2010). I thought it would work and let me breathe a bit if everything was well set up. Unfortunately, when I tried to create a new SharePoint Empty Project in VS 2010, it says ...

SharePoint Server is not installed on this computer. To work with SharePoint projects, a SharePoint server must be installed.

Is there a way out?

I tried this as @ Shankar suggested, and made it work. I have to say that the experience is really much better, and I recommend it too. I wrote about this at http://www.dotnetscraps.com/dotnetscraps/post/SharePoint-2010-Set-up-your-development-environment-for-Windows-7-using-Boot-from-VHD-1-semi -automated-way-with-scripts.aspx

Here are some solutions. I know that this branch is outdated, but this work. (Guess I'm getting a resurgence badge if there are enough people to support this useful answer !: O))

It seems you do not need a full installation of SP2010 to dev in VS2010 for SP.

If you use SQL Server, you can limit its memory consumption. This helped us quite a bit until we upgraded to 6 GB of RAM.

You can also limit the number of custom service applications. Of course, this will depend on what you are actually trying to do.

If you are on Windows 7, you can try the option โ€œDownload to VHDโ€ http://www.ditii.com/2010/03/19/native-boot-to-vhd-in-windows-server-2008-r2- and-windows-7-screencast /

Have you tried installing SharePoint Foundation? This should be smaller.

It should be noted that you cannot develop against all the things you need, but should be good if you are only creating WebPart dev.
