Small, customizable WYSIWYG editor

I would make a small WYSIWYG editor similar to the one used by StackOverflow. In principle, it would have buttons like
, and when this button is pressed,

should be inserted into the text field where the cursor is located or at the end of the rest of the text. If

can be highlighted in some way, that would be even more excellent, but it is not required.

Is there any other WYSIWYG editor where you can add custom buttons, as a result of which custom text is added to the text box?

Why not use the WMD Editor (the one used by stackoverflow) and customize the available buttons?

Stack overflow uses Markdown for formatting. Since Markdown is much easier to create and process than HTML, I would suggest that there are many good options. This option seems to fit all the functions used by Stack Overflow, perhaps it is one and the same!

If you are looking for something non-Markdown, then TinyMCE or CKEditor may be what you want.

You can use Microsoft Expression Web, it is free and comes bundled with other expression applications. He worked very well for me, and I had no problems with that. In addition, W3Schools is a great source for tutorials on code, etc.
