What about WebSafe colors

My father, with whom I am going to create a site (I just removed it from using Dreamweaver and font tags), continues to talk about the WebSafe colors that he should use for background images. I keep telling him that it was around 1999, but he does not believe me.

  • What are WebSafe colors?
  • When and where are they needed?
  • What the hell anyway?

It is not joke.

Look what I found in half a second

No longer relevant if you do not have a 16-bit display pipeline.

I think Websafe colors are used to refer to colers, which can always be displayed, even if the computer uses a 256 color palette.

This is absolutely not important, because any computer sold in the last 10 years uses true color.
