Incorrect package installer behavior

I cannot understand and correct the following behavior displayed by the package installer.

In my application, when I click the "update application" button, I download un update apk from the web server (if available) and then run the package installer to install the package. Everything is going well, and after installation is complete, a view with two open and done buttons is displayed.

However, clicking the "open" button does not allow you to open the installed update as it should, even if the intention of the launch activity was sent, as I noticed in logcat. By clicking on the menu button and going through the installed applications, I can find the updated application and run it here.

What to do to start the update by clicking the "Open" button in the "Installed package" window?

Wouldn't it be better if the Android Marketplace application handled the update process of your application, instead of downloading and installing apk yourself in your application?
