Netbeans Content Diff Directories

A few days ago, I duplicated some folder with the project configuration in a new project and made some changes (project name, paths, etc.). After a few days, the original config dir changed, and I wonder how to split these folders in 2 projects in order to apply these changes in a new project.

If I select the source file and then the new file and select the diff option in Netbeans - it works. But is it possible to do this on the entire folder?

I was looking for a comparison folder in NetBeans. I found http://kenai.com/projects/netbeans-dircomp/downloads . I will try this after a while ...

NetBeans does not have this feature.

Perhaps you could hack into a shell script that would do this based on search, etc. This look for the 'diff directory tree' looks like it has a good answer.

I would recommend that you place the source code under some kind of source control system, such as CVS, SVN, or Mercurial.

You can use these tools to make the difference between the original project configuration between the date the copy was created and now ... and then apply this diff to the copy of the project ...

Or you can apply some of the strategies described in the CVS Guide for processing third-party sources . I think the same concepts are available for svn and mercurial.

A very old question, but Netbeans now has a CVS function.

Go to Tools> Plugins and find CVS and install.

After that, it is very simple to right-click on the directory, go to the tools, and then apply the diff patch. This will fix all the files in the diff file in this directory. Simple and sleek.
