"Remove Jenkins Build After Keep Forever"

I used the Simple Promote Plugin in Jenkins, and he installed my build to "keep this build forever."

Is there any way to remove it?

I got access to the slave who built it and to the owner (I tried to find something connected there, but no luck).

As Christopher said, you can delete the assembly by simply deleting the assembly directory on the main server inside the job directory.

However, if you open the page again, the assembly data will again be flushed to disk. This way, you either close Hudson first, or go to the Hudson management console and "Reboot configuration from disk", which basically discards everything in memory and reloads from your configuration files.

Just make sure you do this right after deleting the folder.

I'm not sure (or how) the Simple Propote Plugin affects this at all, but can you just click on the button that says “Do not keep this assembly forever” and then “Delete”?

When the assembly is marked as “hold forever” (and the padlock icon is displayed next to the assembly), you should be able to “unlock” it by clicking the “Do not hold ...” button on the assembly page

To remove assemblies marked as “save this forever”, you must reverse this flag.

Follow next steps

  • Open in a text editor $ HUDSON_HOME / jobs / job-name / builds / xx / build.xml

  • Change

    <keepLog> true </keepLog> to <keepLog> false </keepLog>

  • Go to Manage Jenkins -> Update Configuration From Disk

After these steps, you will be able to remove the assembly marked as “keep it forever”

I think the final (and maybe the only step) to completely remove the assembly from the Hudson story is to change the nextBuildNumber file placed in the job directory.

Remember that the "Do not save this assembly forever" button will appear only when "Undo old assemblies" is enabled inside the job configuration. I'm not sure if it affects the Simple Promote Plugin, but it works this way with the "Release Plugin".

Not sure about the masters and subordinates, but there is an answer that allowed me to remove the assembly that was explicitly marked for saving.

List all saved designs in Jenkins?
