SVN - change working copy to new svn path

I have an SVN repository that has moved to a new address / path. However, I have a working copy with unfixed source code that still points to the old (now invalid) repository path. How to change a working copy to point to a new repository?

svn switch --relocate deprecated since version 1.7 of subversion. Use svn relocate instead.

Either FROM-PREFIX TO-PREFIX [PATH...] or TO-URL required as arguments.

Cm

svn help relocate

for more information.

Use the svn switch command with the --relocate command line.

Using TortoiseSVN

  • Right-click on the working copy and select "SVN Switch ..."
  • In the "Switch to branch" form Select a new SVN path

Team use

  • Open console
  • Go to the working copy cd [working copy path]
  • Enter the svn relocate [new url]

To be more precise

svn switch --relocate [complete url of the old repo] [complete url of the new repo]

For example:

 svn switch --relocate http://svn.repo.com:9880/website/branches http://svnrepo.com/web/branches

Very simple:

Step 1: Open a command prompt / terminal and set the working path

Step 2: Run this line svn switch --relocate http://newurl
