Is it possible to get the history of changes in the assembly definition in TFS2010?

It seems strange that the basic definitions of construction will not have a story, but I cannot find any mechanisms. Please tell me that it is possible to track changes in build definitions over time.

I am sure that it is not possible to track changes in the assembly definition automatically. However, you can do this manually by exporting the definition to a file each time you modify it, and then validating it in the original control.

You need to install Power Tools Team Foundation Server suitable for your version of TFS, then you can use

tfpt builddefinition

to export definitions.

Look in the source control under:

$/ProjectName/TeamBuildTypes

There should be a complete history of changes in the <> file. proj stored there.

You can use .proj files in TFS 2010 builds (for backward compatibility). So, if you really need to track changes, just add the .proj file to the appropriate TeamBuildTypes folder. When you create an assembly definition, in the process form you need to change the assembly process file to "Update Template", and then specify the path to the configuration folder in the "Assembly process parameters" section.
