I am running a Java application and am encountering an error. Not enough memory. The .hprof file is created. What do I use to analyze what is in the file? How to read this file? Any suggestion?

Memory Analyzer is the best tool I have found for this. It is free and very effective.
You can use the Java heap analysis tool as well as MAT. But MAT is best suited for detecting IMO memory leaks.
