What is the nib MainWindow.xib file for?

I am new to iOS developmentement, and I am trying to understand the entire iOS application development cycle, and I feel that there is a missing part that I just don’t understand.

if the MainWindow.xib file created automatically by Xcode has a view that loads another xib / nib view into it, then why do we use it?

Your application needs a window so that the system can display it on the device screen. The window presents various views, which are different areas of your application that users can interact with. Views can be entire user interfaces or separate user interface elements.

The main window interacts with your application delegate to handle the events that your application receives through the views.
