WinMerge: how to ignore comments

I use WinMerge to compare java files in folders (including subfolders). I would like to ignore comments when this is done, but I do not know how to do it.

At the file level, I found a switch in the options, so if I compare two files, comments are ignored. However, if I compare the folders in which these two files are located, WinMerge tells me that the files are different. Then, when I click on the files, WinMerge discovers that the only differences are the comments, and it tells me that the files are equal.

Any idea?

You can use the IgnoreCommentsC.dll plugin. The plugin ignores comments inside // ... and / * ... * / delimiters in C, C ++, PHP, and JavaScript files.

You can simply link it to java files. Download here .

EDIT : It seems that the link is no longer loaded with plugins. The documentation says that plugins must be installed during installation. More information about plugins can be found in the documentation ( general information , available plugins )
