Accepting credit card payments means paying either a flat (and rather high) rate or a percentage of each purchase in a processing company. This is actually not the case.

Negligence in the way you process credit card payments may leave you in effect if data is stolen. As a rule of thumb, you should never let your application “see” a credit card number. Make sure that it is always sent directly to the processing company, and you only process the confirmation from there (via the form back message or another mechanism).

The options for “placing an order” and “perpetual POST order” include sending the user information about their card directly to CyberSource (via the form message), and their application then POST will return to the URL of your site to continue the order. Other manufacturing companies are likely to have similar options.

There is no simple answer "just use X" for this, but you will probably be better off with something like Paypal or Google Checkout if you really don't want to run into serious credit card processing issues.

It is possible. You will need to become a payment service provider for the seller. This, however, is a huge event (especially since PCI-DSS came into play several years ago).

By taking this route, you will avoid any payment for the fee, but you will still pay interest on the trading fee (charged by the acquiring bank). You must also consider the huge development time and the fees involved in becoming a PCI-DSS-compatible service provider. Probably, it would not be beneficial (even long-term) for one merchant.
