Is any Markdown-to-WikiMarkup converter available?

Markdown is cool, and Wiki Markup is kind of ... you know what I mean.

But if I had to work with Wiki markup , is there any markdown syntax for Wiki Markup

syntax converter? Online or stand-alone script is all right. Thank :-)

I do not know any available. Two solutions come to me:

  • Take one of the existing parsers ( How are you going to parse Markdown? ) And replace the HTML emitter with your self-encoded Wikitext output module. Since languages are not so complex, this should be a doable task.
  • Or, after answering Is there a way to convert Wikitext to Markdown in python? , get the Markdown2HTML converter and HTML2Wikitext converter and put them together :-)
  • Record Markdown and install Extension: MarkdownSyntax in MediaWiki
