Sproutcore vs Cappuccino Speed

I am evaluating sproutcore and cappuccino for use in my current project. Since I am a rails developer and I like pure javascript, I think sproutcore is better for my style. My problem is that every sproutcore sampler I tested seems very boring and slow in its user interface. Scrolling is very slow, pressing the buttons has a delay, etc. On the other hand, all cappuccino samples seem very responsive, despite the fact that they are more full-blown than seedling samples.

I have no problem diving into target-j, although currently my eyes hurt. You guys think it's worth it, or speed issues is just my idea. I really do not want to comment on what I will not optimize later.

This doesn't sound like an online demo for testing, but this product runs on SproutCore. For a practical demonstration, try this task demonstration (login "SG", no password).

I would also recommend spending a day going through demos on the wiki. This will give you an idea not only of speed, but also of the speed with which you will grow.
