Maven Error for Eclipse (M2E)

Error Details:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. Software being installed: m2e - Maven Integration for Eclipse 1.4.0.20130601-0317 (org.eclipse.m2e.feature.feature.group 1.4.0.20130601-0317) Missing requirement: Maven Integration for Eclipse (Editors) 1.4.0.20130601-0317 (org.eclipse.m2e.editor 1.4.0.20130601-0317) requires 'bundle org.slf4j.api 1.6.2' but it could not be found Cannot satisfy dependency: From: m2e - Maven Integration for Eclipse 1.4.0.20130601-0317 (org.eclipse.m2e.feature.feature.group 1.4.0.20130601-0317) To: org.eclipse.m2e.editor [1.4.0.20130601-0317]

Getting the above error when installing M2E in Eclipse. My M2E URL http://download.eclipse.org/technology/m2e/releases

As of the end of 2011, the M2Eclipse project was donated by the Eclipse Sonatype Foundation and is now simply called M2E. Starting with the release of Indigo JEE SR2, this plugin can be found on the pre-configured Indigo update site contained in Eclipse , so you don't need to add a new update site .

To install, follow these steps:

  • Launch Eclipse select the menu item Help-> Install new software.
  • Select the Indigo update site and wait for the software to be selected. pops up in the table at the bottom of this Install dialog (this can take up to a minute).
  • In the table, select "General Purpose" Tools "and then" M2E - Maven Integration for Eclipse ", click" Next "and complete the installation of the plugin.
  • Restart Eclipse as directed.

Sometimes for older Eclipse, such as Helios, version 1.5 or 1.4 causes a similar error. In this case, you can try 1.3:
