Change object key name

I understand that they should not change, it is rather a migration of the scheme and only a one-time thing.

I would like to change the keyword names in the Google App Engine application, effectively deleting and re-breaking the object and updating all links to it.

What is the best way to do this? I am interested to hear how someone comes across such things.

Since changing the key name is functionally identical to creating a new, identical object with this key, what you want to do is clone the object with the new key. Here is some code that does just that.
