TeamCity username / password

Hi. I installed teamcity a long time ago on my home computer. I try to use it again again, but I forgot the administrator username and password. Is there a default administrator name? and how can i get the password?

So, you forgot the username and password in the teamcity instance.
How to reset password : described here .
How to get username :

  • go to teamcity data directory
  • open config\database.properties file
  • There is a connectionUrl property that points to the database in which some teamcity settings are stored.
  • look at the users table

Update

After you get the username, you can reset reset his password via the following (copied from the linked answer ):

  • Open a command prompt and go to the \webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\lib folder
  • Follow these steps: ..\..\..\..\jre\bin\java.exe -cp server.jar;common-api.jar;commons-codec-1.3.jar;util.jar;hsqldb.jar ChangePassword username newpassword

From TeamCity 8, you can log in as superuser and change the password in this way. You just need to use the empty username and the last occurrence of the “superuser authentication token” found in the logs \ teamcity-server.log file as the password.

FYI, don't follow the tips for going through the users table. TeamCity is a quality product, so all passwords are salted / hashed (TC 9 below):
