Australian Real Estate API (for google maps mashup)

There was an idea to create a mashup of Google Maps + Real Estate, and you would like to launch a project for pets.

Atm I am looking for a source of real estate data. I want to avoid scraping, most preferably one that has an API that returns JSON (preferably) or XML (or something else that is actually programmatically processed).

The large online portals in this area, http://domain.com.au , http://realestate.com.au and http://realestateview.com.au do not seem to have an API that is publicly open. Am I missing something here?

The only site I have found so far is Nestoria , however their Australian listings do not look as comprehensive as the sites mentioned above.

Does anyone know more data sources?

If you want something for free, scraping is your only option. You can be sure that anyone who provides the data for free also probably scrapes it from domain.com.au and realestate.com.au in the world. ( this usually is the result)

You might be lucky if you are willing to spend a few dollars. The following sites offer very complete datasets, however I think it will not be cheap.

The only thing I found was a monthly summary of real estate markets in the Australian capital in json from RPData .
