SSRS report color changes when exporting to Excel

When we export the SSRS 2008 report for Excel and then copy the range from this file to another excel file, the colors used in the report change to something completely different, very annoying when we use "Conditonal Formatting" to color some of these cells with a specific color . Any ideas why?

This is due to the fact that MS began to use a special Excel color palette with SQL Server 2008 instead of the built-in colors. The problem is that you are describing that when you copy and paste colors from one sheet to another, you lose formatting. Unfortunately: Nothing of the kind.

An offer from the SSRS team (in the link / message above) Sent by Microsoft on 05/29/2011 at 15:34 API for COM / .NET is similar. You call Worksheet.Copy, which does not provide these parameters. Take a look at Range.Copy and Range.PasteSpecial.

Anyone who has a link to any C # code to use Range.Copy or PasteSpecial calls to copy from one book / sheet to another book?

I believe that KeepSourceFormat or KeepSOurceScheme will be a hit for copying a sheet from one workbook to another in order to avoid color problems in the SSRS 2008 R2 Excel report.

If you only need to copy and paste it from one file to another, you can just ctrl + C and ctrl + P. Ctrl + C works fine, but because of what you need to right-click and in Paste options you need to minimize Paste special and find Save original format . It works for me because it preserves all colors and shapes except for cell sizes.

This worked for me.

=IIF(sum(Fields!TotalHours.Value) <> "", "White","Pink")

In other words, make sure you define colors for both conditions. Then, on the Tablix1 properties Tablix1 in the Background section, fill in the color "Automatic" and select "No color"
