Google Engine Session

  • What is the mechanism of a java application, default session time?
  • will it be some kind of bad effect if we set the session time for a very long time, since the session of the google engine is just storage in the default data store? (like facebook, every time you go to the page, the session still exists forever)?

  • The session timeout is set to 30 minutes by default. (you can check its call to getMaxInactiveInterval )
  • With this rather limited information about your application, I see no influence.
    Using setMaxInactiveInterval(-1) means that the session should never timeout. Keep in mind that you also need to overwrite the MaxSge JSESSIONID cookie to prevent session loss when closing the browser.

  • I just checked on my GAE webapp and the default timeout is getMaxInactiveInterval () = 86400 (s) = 24 hours = 1 day
